Henrik Harlaut wins the Monsterpark Invitational on Glacier 3000

Gstaad / Les Diablerets, November 8, 2008. By presenting a world premiere, the Switch 1620, Henrik Harlaut from Sweden wins the Monsterpark Invitational. In addition to the pro riders, the juniors also put on an impressive show. The second edition of the Monsterpark Invitational at Glacier 3000 was a successful event for spectators as well.

On the „Big Mama“ at Glacier 3000, 32 of the best Freeskiers from 8 countries competed at the Monsterpark Invitational. The event, one of the first of the season, gave riders the chance to assess their current skill level. All worked hard and gave it their best shot. Top riders and rookies alike demonstrated their true skills. The event on the Big Mama, based on the KO system, was carried out amidst wonderful winter surroundings. The winner was Henrik Harlaut from Sweden, followed by Anders Backe from Norway. The Swedish rider presented in the final with the jump Switch 1620 (fourth and a half turns) a world premiere. The winner got a price money of 5000 Swiss francs. The best Swiss riders were Yvan Métrailler and Carim Bouznada, they qualified for the quarter-final.
A lot of the spectators did not want to miss the chance to watch the event up-close. The trip to the glacier was worth it. The riders put on a spectacular show which left everyone fascinated by this unique sport. The official event party at the Chlösterli in Gstaad gave everyone the chance to party and enjoy music from DJs, as well as to watch the film and photo show of the event.
