Review Volcom WITP Montreux

Eyal MAMAN winner 15-, FS Hurricane

This year the skatepark Empireskatebuilding in Montreux placed their fabulous skatepark at our disposal. This bright indoor park with a nice urban “garden”, was perfect for us. Inside wild, outside chill. The park setup got divided in 3 areas, 2-3 Obstacles per area and yeah!…So much possibilities, so much fun. The setup permitted sick and creative runs.
Over 80 kids from all over Switzerland attacked our inscription table at 10 am. They almost killed us for starting their practice runs, so we felt like animal trainers in a cage. The little kids opened the contest like a hurricane, the big kids finished it like a firework…check all the pics and the video in this report.
Unfortunately, some strong competitors haven’t realized that our format requires to skate all defined areas to win. Despite this fact, I guess these guys had so much fun for pushing each other to do even better tricks! Between the heats, our family riders Jan Hofer and Maxime Kathari showed the kids, how simple skateboarding can be.
The spontaneous best trick session at the end of the contest killed everybody. Suddenly there were no more exited kids, no stress just a tiredness who catched everybody. We’re happy about a good day of wild skateboarding. Our format made everybody tired, very tired! We finished the day with some beers (or coca cola) in the garden.
For the prize giving the kids woke up for a last time…thanks for coming!
